The Creative Mandate - four women in Conversation

Women's month will end in few days. A woman's ability to influence and impact lives should not fade with the approach of the new month or the next hype. To keep the conversation alive, I am sharing this insightful conversation my co-host Mandie Van der Spuy the Deputy Chairman of Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) and I had earlier this year with these two phenomenal women Grace Meadows, the Head of Arts Programme at the British Council and Madeleine Lambert Head of Research at BASA.

In this podcast, we unpack the CREATIVE Mandate. We explore how business and the arts can and should work together to mobilise the economy, create jobs and be the catalyst for social cohesion.

The reveal for me this past year cemented my belief that everything is POSSIBLE! The collaborative initiatives that I have been privy to and involved in are confirmation that most limitations exist in our heads. When we work at freeing our minds, not even a virus that is responsible for the restriction of movement and the unparalleled levels of pain and loss will prevent us from advancing our Purpose!

For meaningful and sustainable change, we need to have deep conversations with ourselves. Be clear on what it is we want to achieve and WHY = PURPOSE!

Most things are possible with a clear vision, willingness, aligned values, meaningful partnerships, desire, and action! Simple ideas and actions are the solutions to most of our worldly challenges. Every day is a learning for me, and my observation is that HUMANS choose to complicate things for a myriad of reasons................ (I am going to leave you to fill in the reasons)

Those of us who continue to drive the narratives and collaboratively implement projects that benefit self, community, country, and the world, keep going and I thank you for your contribution!

Our world currently need ALL the strong positive minds and hands, to block out the noise and drive the narratives and projects that we believe in. My hope is that all good is paid forward, this way the momentum for positive Change and sustained Good is realised one person at a time! Ashraf Johaardien and the BASA team I thank you for your passion, unwavering commitment and dedication in positively impacting and contributing to the lives of many.

I am going to leave you with this quote by Abhijit Naskar:

"All the intellect and knowledge in the world turn dim in front of one simple act of love and kindness.”

Spread the love and Be KIND!

Take good care and stay safe, well and happy!

Thank you for stopping by!

I wish you love, light, happiness, and Freedom
